In the early 1900's there was no soft drink bottle style that was synonymous with the name Coca-Cola. The Root bottle is the prototype of the now famous "hobbleskirt" bottle, which later evolved into what is used today - a streamlined contour bottle. The Root bottle was never actually put into production due to the much exaggerated hobbleskirt shape that made it difficult to produce and market.
