| C.C. Browns began in 1906 as a family owned ice cream shop. It remained a family operated business until closing on June 8th, 1996.
Candy maker Clarence Clifton Brown brought his copper kettles out to Los Angeles by covered wagon and opened his ice cream shop 90 years ago.
The shop has been revered by chocolate lovers as the birthplace of the hot fudge sundae. In 1924, he passed the shop on to his son, Cliff, and the
store moved from downtown Los Angeles to Hollywood where it became popular with celebrities. In 1963, Cliff sold the store to his friend, John
Schumacher, a Carnation dairy chemist.
The Shumacher families eight children ran C.C. Browns until 1996. The children are all adults now and are pursuing different career paths. Rather
than sell C.C. Browns to an outsider fearing that the secret hot fudge recipie would be abandoned for a thinner, commercial hot fudge, the
Schumacher's decided to close the store.
C.C. Brown's hot fudge is still a secret recipie and is still being produced in the original copper kettles. Pacific Products Gallery is pleased to offer the
worlds finest hot fudge from the birthplace of the hot fudge sundae. One taste of C.C. Browns hot fudge is enough to turn anyone into a hot fudge
chocolate lover!
